Time Card Paintings

A series of numbered paintings on vintage time cards. Each of the paintings isolates an individual shape or pattern from the language of forms I've developed over the past few years.

The paintings mark the passage of time in several ways, from the ephemeral nature of the vintage card stock to the recorded time it takes to make each painting. Through this work I urge the viewer to reconsider notions about the value of a work of art that may be at odds with the process and intent of the artist.

Invisible Forces: 8x8 Paintings

This ongoing series of 8x8 inch acrylic paintings was started in Winter 2016 and has become an important part of my practice. It is the place I feel I am able to explore painterly ideas and the development of my personal symbology with the greatest freedom. Over time it has evolved into a very large gridded wall that is part journal, part installation.
